Parents of missing kids protest

Two class VI students of Patel Nagar Higher Secondary school in Tondiarpet have been missing since Wednesday. On Friday, parents and relatives of the missing students as well as local residents staged a protest demanding swift action by the police to locate them.

Police said on Wednesday, M. Azaruddin (11), a resident of Annai Sandya Nagar, Tondiarpet and M. Zaher Imam (12), both of a resident of Patel Nagar in Tondiarpet, left the school to have lunch at their houses. After the meal, both students took a few clothes in a bag and left, their respective houses telling their parents they were going to school. for dance practice. They have been missing since.

When they did not return, the parents went to the school but were told the students never came back there. “Both of them were childhood friends as both families have lived in the locality for many years. “We searched all over but were unable to find them. We are very worried,” said Azaruddin’s father, Mustafa, a tailor.

A case has been filed by the R.K. Nagar police.
