Sri Annai Kamakshi Kalaikudam is organising a solo painting exhibition of one of its students P.S. Nirupama at Achalam Art Gallery, K.K. Nagar, Chennai. The exhibition will be on till August 3.
Nirupama’s interest is to work with acrylic colours and on themes such as landscapes and abstract art. She also works on oil painting, glass painting, fabric painting, nib painting, Tanjore painting, and painting using poster colours and water colours.
She has participated in the annual exhibitions such as Shristi 2003, Chitramala 2008, 2011 and 2012 organised by Sri Annai Kamakshi Kalaikudam at Lalit Kala Academy, Greams Road, Chennai. She was also a part of the programme ‘Women Empowered’ organised by Achalam Art Gallery.
An alumnus of PSBB School, K.K. Nagar, Nirupama, is a commerce graduate and she has passed the IPCC examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and at present undergoing articleship for the final examination.
The exhibition which was inaugurated by V. Senguttuvan, Assistant Professor, Government College of Fine Arts, and artist Thojomaye Menon will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Achalam Art Gallery, No. 1/131, First Floor, Lakshmanaswamy Salai, First Sector, K.K. Nagar, For details, contact 42127682.
