One held for selling lottery tickets

The police have arrested six persons, including two women and a local magazine owner, from different parts of the city on charges of reportedly operating and selling the banned “single digit” lottery.

According to police, in Virugambakkam, Rangarajan, who ran a magazine called Nimrundhu Nil was arrested by the police along with four of his accomplices for allegedly running the banned single digit lottery in T. Nagar.

Around Rs. 40,000 was seized from them. “His father was also remanded in 2015 for running the lottery business,” said a senior police officer.
