NXg Invites!

August 12, 2010 04:23 pm | Updated November 17, 2021 10:49 am IST

Our city's 371st birthday is almost here and to celebrate her glorious past, happening present and promising future, we have planned to dedicate an entire issue to her. It will be great if you, our readers, join the bash by contributing your thoughts, ideas or photographs for the following:

Framed

You have scanned the city with your eyes, in the best and worst of times. But let's stick to the best this time. Now send us pictures of the city's best moments or things that are quintessentially Chennai — be it of its people coming together for a cause, the city proudly displaying its green, a clean spot, historic reminder, organised traffic, a roadside chaat walla, beach bajjis, a convoy of luxury cars or our very own auto rickshaws…

Spot on!

You've obviously been all over the city, and yet there are only a few places that you will call 'happening' by your standards and whatever standards that may be! So spill the beans on your top five favourite or most happening hangouts in the city. And it needn't just be the malls and beaches. Get thinking!

Looking back

The city's been changing and how! Even five years is a long time back going by the rate at which the city is developing. At least most of it is for the better. But somewhere deep down, for many, the heart still yearns for the city that was. Write to us (in not more than 200 words) about your memories of Chennai that was and the things you miss the most about the city.

Mail your responses and photographs to nxg.event@gmail.com by August 14, and do mention the categories (‘Framed', ‘Spot on!' or ‘Looking back' in the subject line). You need not restrict yourself to just one of the above categories. If you are brimming with views to share, please go ahead and write in. Show the city that you love her!
