Notice issued on plea to produce boy

March 15, 2012 03:15 am | Updated 03:15 am IST - CHENNAI:

The Madras High Court on Wednesday ordered notice to Chennai police authorities and a teacher of a city school on a habeas corpus petition seeking the production of a 17-year-old boy before it and handing him over to his father.

A Division Bench of Justices K. Mohan Ram and Akbar Ali said that the notice would be returnable in a week. In the petition, Saravan Kumar stated that his son was doing Plus-One in a city school. A teacher in the school was disturbing his son by frequently sending obscene messages. He had lodged a police complaint.

On March 4, his son went to school, but did not return. He filed a complaint with the police. But no action was taken.
