Nominations invited for scientists award

Young women scientist awards are given to four women scientists below the age of 40 years

The Science City, Chennai, on Friday invited nominations from women scientists for the Tamil Nadu Young Women Scientists Award – 2012 and Tamil Nadu Lifetime Achievement Award for Women Scientists – 2012.

An official release said the young women scientist awards are given to four women scientists below the age of 40 years and lifetime achievement awards to those above 60 years. The awards carry a cash prize and a citation.

The award is given in recognition of the outstanding research carried out by them in fields such as agricultural sciences, chemical sciences, engineering & technology, environmental sciences, home sciences, life sciences, mathematical sciences, medical sciences and native medicine, physical sciences, social sciences and veterinary sciences.
