Inmates lodged in different central prisons across the state appeared in the Plus Two examinations held at the Puzhal Central Prison in Chennai.

Nine out of 12 inmates of Puzhal Central Prison who sat for the State Board Class XII examinations have passed. Notable among them is the suspected Maoist leader Sundaramoorthy. He scored 835 out of a possible 1200 (69.5%).

The result of one of the candidates has been withheld and two have failed. Across the state, 39 convicts had attempted the exam.
