New train service to Delhi

A new train service, Duronto Express, will be introduced between Chennai Central and H. Nizamuddin on September 21. It will be a non-stop service between the two metropolitan cities.

According to a Southern Railway press release, Train No. 2269 Duronto Weekly Express would leave Chennai Central at 6.40 a.m. on Mondays and arrive H. Nizamuddin at 10.35 a.m. the next day. In the return direction, Train No. 2270 would leave H. Nizamuddin at 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and arrive Chennai Central at 8.10 p.m. on Wednesday.

There would be no tatkal booking. The fare includes catering charges and the catering would be provided by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation. Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram would flag off the service.

Advance reservation would begin on Friday, the release said.
