A girl child born just 12 hours before was found missing from the Labour Ward of Government Kilpauk Hospital. It was alleged that the child was kidnapped by an unidentified woman around 1.30 p.m. on Saturday. A CCTV in the ward seems to be not functioning.

Saritha (24) the mother of the child residing at a ladies hostel in Poonamallee was admitted to KMC with labour pain around 11 p.m. on Friday and the child was born around 1 a.m.

While Ms. Saritha was unconscious, a middle aged woman, on the pretext of visiting the mother, who she claimed as a friend, came to the ward and took away the child. Further probe is on.
