Aavin consumers who want to renew their milk cards now have it easy — they can do it online. Aavin, the Tamil Nadu Cooperative Milk Producers Federation, has extended the facility of online renewal and registration of smart cards to all consumers in the city. Even those who want new consumer cards for Aavin milk can apply online on the website www.aavinmilk.com.

An official press release said that Aavin had received around 3,000 applications for smart cards and after verification 2,000 cards have been cleared.

The Federation is in the process of distributing them. As far as renewal of milk cards is concerned, consumers need to first register for smart cards and then, using the automatically-generated registration number, need to log in again after 24 hours for the consumer ID number using which they can renew their cards.

Payment can be made through debit and credit cards. On the 15 of each month, consumers must take a print-out of the online acknowledgement and produce it at their local Aavin depot along with the previous month’s card.

Aavin supplies a total of 11 lakh litres daily in the city, of which around 7.5 lakh litres are consumed by 6 lakh households. The Federation has nearly 80 parlours and 150 franchise outlets.
