Tired of making calls and waiting for hours to have drinking water cans at home? Then, this one is made just for you. Go to Google play store and download ‘Hydroxy Aqua Distributors’, an app to book water cans.

Three residents of Nanganallur — S. Venkatesh, P.K. Saravanan and N. Aravind — have launched this app, which enables users to have water cans delivered at their doorsteps within a maximun period of 90 minutes.

The trio runs a distribution agency, called Hydroxy Aqua Distributors, for supplying water cans in the neighbourhood.

M.B. Nirmal, chairman-founder, Exnora International, launched the app, in the presence of P. Mohan Doss, assistant commissioner of police, St. Thomas Mount; and K. Sundar Rajan, foundation chairman, Rotary International.

Currently, water cans are being distributed to residents of Nanganallur, Madipakkam, Ullagaram, Adambakkam, Pazhavanthangal, Moovarasampet, Meenambakkam and Puzhuthivakkam through this app.

S. Venkatesh says, “Currently, the app is available only on the android platform; it will soon be availbale on App Store as well as on the iOS platfrom. Though we supply cans only in the afore-mentioned areas; in the months to come, we will extend our services to the other areas of Chennai.”

P.K. Saravanan says, “Before taking the cans for delivery, we ensure that they are clean and have a seal and an ISO number. Plans are on to seal the cans completely with recyclable covers, so as to prevent damage and leakage.” So far, more than 1,000 people have downloaded the app. “On an average, every day, we receive around 100 bookings,” Saravanan adds.
