Mysskin has started shooting for his next film, ‘Pisasu’, for director Bala’s production house, B Studios. The film, his follow-up to the much-acclaimed ‘Onnaiyum Aatukuttiyum’, will have a host of debutants in the lead roles; the music, too, will be scored by a debutant.
Both Mysskin and Bala are known for challenging the status quo in the film industry, and not adhering to the hero culture. So, there are a lot of expectations among discerning film-lovers.
Mysskin had taken a break in the U.S. to do some research and write this paranormal thriller. Bala is known to be reclusive and not very forthcoming when it comes to discussing cinema. But in one of his rare television interviews, given to actor Sangeetha, he had said he was moved by Mysskin’s Onaiyum Aatukuttiyum, and called him a treasure of the Tamil film industry.
The film’s puja was held recently at Mysskin’s office.

Team Kochadaiiyaan recently issued a press statement to contend reports that the film was getting delayed because of some financial settlements.
The film’s release had gotten pushed from May 9 to May 23, and though the film’s distributor and producer had noted that the delay was on technical grounds, there were speculations that the real reason was some financial settlements.
In a press release issued Tuesday, the film’s producers clarified that the rendering of the country’s first full-length performance-capture animation in both 2D and 3D formats had taken longer than originally anticipated.
Also, they noted, there was a demand for an additional 2,000 screens that they could not immediately comply with. Now, it looks like the film will release on May 23 to a record number of theatres.

Taramani, the south Chennai neighbourhood, home to several IT industries, will soon have another thing to boast about: a film named after it.
‘Taramani’, directed by Ram, has Vasanth Ravi and Andrea in the lead.
“Since the story is set in Taramani, we decided to name the film after the place. The hero and heroine meet there,” said the director, whose favourite place is the Taramani MRTS station.
“I like that station very much; it is a remote place and you can meet different kinds of people here. I have sat and listened to people discussing about love failures and tiffs with lovers,” Mr. Ram said.
Though initially it was thought that the film was about the bustling IT industry, the director clarified that it was not.
Two schedules of shooting are already over for the film shot mostly in and around Rajiv Gandhi Salai and East Coast Road. Produced by JSK Film Corporation, Taramani is likely to be released by July-end or August.
