A local bus hit a median near MRC Nagar after the brakes failed, late on Wednesday. The bus was heading to Broadway from Kelambakkam.

The bus then hit a call taxi and rammed into a wall nearby. The incident happened at around 11:10 PM.

A source, who was at the scene of the accident, said, “There was no major injury. The bus driver and conductor had minor injuries. The cab driver said he had some pain in his leg.”

The bus and the car was damaged on the front side and the cab was removed from the spot with the help of a tow vehicle.

The area of MRC Nagar had, earlier this year, witnessed another accident . Professional car racer Ashwin Sundar, 27, and his wife Niveditha, 25, a doctor, were burnt to death as their BMW sports car, reportedly driven above permissible speed limits, caught fire after it veered around and crashed into the space between a tree and a parapet wall in the early hours of March 18.
