A day after the city police seized 16 motorcycles from 27-year-old Azharuddin, who was arrested on Monday for stealing a motorcycle near Marina Beach, the P-2 Otteri Police Station nabbed two motorcycle thieves on Monday.
According to them, accused Rajendran (21) and Nagaraj (19) were arrested for stealing a Yamaha motorcycle belonging to Anish Kumar (26).
The vehicle was parked outside Anish Kumar’s residence in Otteri on Friday.
Man held
A 40-year-old man was arrested for stealing a commuter’s purse and cell phone on an MTC bus on Monday.
Ramesh Kutty had allegedly picked the commuter’s cellphone and wallet containing Rs. 1,700 as he got into the bus at the CMBT terminus.
He was however caught by officers from the K-11 CMBT police station.
He was arrested and remanded in custody.
