A mother and her three-year-old daughter died after the woman set herself ablaze on Tuesday evening.
According to the police, Mohan (36) is a programmer in a software company and resides at Ellaiamman Koil Street in Teynampet. He married Kavitha (32) five years back. Both of them are hearing- and speech-impaired.
On Tuesday morning, the couple fought before Mohan left for work. In the evening, Kavitha doused her body with kerosene and set herself ablaze. Seeing this, her daughter Diya hugged her and sustained burn injuries.
Kavitha died on the spot and Diya died in the hospital. The Teynampet police have registered a case and are investigating.
