More car rental options for city soon

August 29, 2012 08:20 am | Updated 08:20 am IST - CHENNAI:

Transport in the city just got a leg up in terms of options available. A fleet of 500 cars is being introduced for inter-city, intra-city and self- drive services by Carzonrent, a car rental/hire company. This is in addition to its existing fleet of 500 cars in the city. The cabs will be up for rent in a couple of months.

Stating that the ground transportation industry had a lot of potential, Rajiv Vij, founder and CEO of Carzonrent, said that though there is 12-15 per cent growth in the industry every year, the progress is disorganised and fragmented. When asked how Carzonrent, a company which began in 2000, is different from other companies in the field, he replied, “We focus on customer satisfaction and are known for good quality and transparency in our service as well as reasonable charges.”

The company is also collaborating with international car rental partners to introduce a service for people who travel from India to any of 145 countries around the world. People will be able to rent a cab service from India prior to their departure on their website. The self-drive option and the international car rental service will be operational in a month’s time, Mr. Vij said.
