Minor injury for Letika in accident

Director General of Police of Tamil Nadu Letika Saran escaped with a minor injury when the car in which she was travelling hit a roadside tree along the Bhubaneswar-Puri road on Friday morning.

Ms. Saran was here to attend the fourth National Conference of Women in Police. The Tamil Nadu DGP was returning after a ‘darshan' at Sri Jagannath Temple, Puri when the accident took place, said Satyajit Mohanty, director of Biju Patnaik State Police Academy.

At a circuitous road junction near Satasankha, her car skidded while avoiding a vehicle from the opposite side, Mr. Mohanty said.He said Ms. Saran sustained a cut on her forehead while a liaison officer and driver sustained minor injuries. She was immediately rushed to a local hospital where medical attention was given. Later, she addressed the conference and left for Chennai.
