Minister’s kin robbed

A 24-year-youth, a relative of Agriculture Minister R. Duraikannu, was robbed of a mobile phone on Thiru. Vi. Ka Bridge in Adyar.

According to the police, Sirpi Adithan (24) is the grandson of the Minister’s brother and is working at a BPO unit in K.K. Nagar. On Tuesday night, he was walking on the bridge while talking on his cell phone.

Two unidentified persons, who had followed him, snatched his phone and fled.

A similar incident was reported from the Marina beach on Tuesday night.

A gang of three persons waylaid Ajithkumar of Pulianthope, who had come to the Marina with a friend.

The gang tried to snatch her gold chain and Ajithkumar tried to stop them. They injured him with a knife, snatched his mobile phone and fled.
