Mike Hussey, Australian middle order cricket star, shared some of the secrets of his stellar career to young cricketers at the Cricket India Academy's Summer Camp in Chennai recently.

As a Role Model for Cricket Education Program, Hussey visited the Cricket India Academy Summer Camp where around 75 children were undergoing specialised training under the guidance of Cricket Australia accredited coaches. Hussey also shared his philosophies, ideals and experiences with these children.

Mike Hussey said, “Cricket has opened many doors of opportunity for me. It has helped me in developing myself as an individual on and off the field. Cricket Education Program has been written by Cricket Australia to help children and shape them into quality sportspeople and it is fantastic to see the response in India. I am very confident about the fact that a systematic learning program will help teach the basics at a young age. With the right basics in place, a child can learn and adapt more easily and successfully to succeed in the different formats of modern cricket.”

Martin Gleeson, CEO, Sports Education Development India Limited (SEDIL), added, “With a steady increase in the number of children joining Cricket Education Program, we at Cricket India Academy are excited with the way the program has been accepted.”

During the event Inside Edge Sportainment (P) Ltd Founder Vignesh Balasubramaniam was presented with their partnership certificate with SEDIL.

Cricket India Academy is the cricket division of SEDIL, which was founded with the objective of providing high quality cricket development programmes.
