K.S.Venkataraman, secretary, The Mylapore Fine Arts Club (MFAC), passed away here on Monday. He was 67. He had been ailing since suffering a stroke two months ago. Mr. Venkataraman took charge as secretary of the sabha in 1974, and has been one of the longest-serving secretaries of the nearly-60-year-old organisation. Earlier, he also had a short stint as treasurer. Fondly remembered by his colleagues and friends as an able administrator, Mr.Venkataraman would be seen on the sabha premises from morning till night during the music festival. Senior musicians often commended him for his efficiency, while many junior musicians considered him a mentor. His colleagues said Mr. Venkataraman was a very accessible person, who treated all human beings with equal respect. Artists and members of the sabha would miss him , they added. Mr. Venkataraman is survived by his mother, wife, two daughters and a son.
