Many university exams postponed

The State-level national talent search examination scheduled for Saturday has been postponed to November 18 due to heavy rain, according to a release from the Directorate of Government Examinations on Friday.

Students from various city colleges are currently in the middle of semester exams. Thursday’s downpour left many students who had come for either supplementary exams or lived in college hostels stranded and clueless about the status of the exam.

Higher Education officials updated on the status only late in the night or in some cases early on Friday morning.

Anna University had cancelled the exams scheduled on Friday. However, there is no change in exams to be held on Saturday.

The Tamil Nadu Dr Ambedkar Law University postponed Friday’s examinations and the Registrar said that the new date will be announced later. The University of Madras postponed all exams scheduled for Friday, said Vice-Chancellor P. Duraisamy.

The Directorate of Technical Education also postponed the polytechnic exams scheduled on Friday due to heavy rain.
