Man murdered in Purasaiwalkam

A 52-year-old man was hacked to death by a gang inside his house in Purasaiwalkam on Wednesday at noon.

According to Vepery police, a group of people who arrived on two motorcycles armed with sharp weapons attacked the victim Vijayakumar, a real estate businessman, in his first floor apartment on Arasappan Street. Vijayakumar was wounded in the neck and arms. He died on the spot. His two sisters, who were also there, were left unharmed. Police have registered a case and suspect that a dispute over a business deal could have led to the attack.
