A 24-year-old man was murdered by a gang on MGR Street, Nemilicherry, near Pattabiram, on Sunday night. Police said gang rivalry could be the motive behind the murder. According to the police, the victim, Mukundan, had regular fights with Saravanan, his neighbour. On Sunday night, the two fought again, and the altercation escalated. A gang led by Saravanan murdered Mukundan and fled, police said.
Mukundan died on the way to Government Kilpauk Hospital. An investigation is on.
