Man kills wife, daughter

A 52-year-old man allegedly killed his wife and daughter at their house in Bhaktavatsalam Nagar, Nanganallur late on Monday night.

Pazhavanthangal police, who are investigating, said the man was under the influence of liquor and committed the murders in a fit of rage. Radha was employed as a security guard in a private firm .

He used to frequently quarrel with his wife, Eswari, suspecting her character. Their daughter, Divya (18)was working in a coffee shop at Chennai airport. The family was living in a rented house .

Two days ago, a male relative had visited the family and since then a quarrel erupted between the couple . On Monday, Radha returned from work drunk. He picked up a quarrel with his wife and also their daughter when she tried to intervene.

Later, when both the women were asleep, he picked up the roller stone from the wet grinder and smashed their heads, killing them instantly. Neighbours suspected something amiss and informed police, who arrested Radha.
