Man electrocuted

A 38-year-old man was electrocuted at his house under construction at Nesavalar Nagar in Jalladianpet near Pallikaranai on Monday morning.

Adhikesavan was spraying water on the walls of the house when he stepped on a puddle of water. Due to defective wiring connected to the motor pump, power supply had seeped to the water puddle and when he stepped on it, was thrown for a distance in the impact. He was rushed to a private hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival, Pallikaranai police said. A case under Section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure has been registered at the station.
