Man critical after Metro suicide bid

The 25-year-old man who attempted suicide at the Vadapalani section of Chennai Metro Rail by jumping to the tracks on Wednesday evening is in a critical condition, hospital authorities have said.

“The patient has multiple fractures and abdominal, chest and head injuries. He is in the ICU and is on ventilator support. We have stabilised him as of now, but will know more about his condition in a couple of days,” a hospital official said here on Thursday.
