‘Madras Week' programmes

The following programmes are being organised on Tuesday as part of the ‘Madras Week'.

A heritage walk on the Marina Beach is being organised by Asan Memorial Senior Secondary School at 8 a.m.

A multimedia presentation by school children on the heritage of Chennai will be held at Srinivasa Sastri Hall, Mylapore, at 9 a.m.

A quiz on ‘Landmarks and heritage of Chennai and Tambaram' will be conducted at Hermann Gmeiner School auditorium, Professor Colony, Tambaram East, at 10 a.m. INTACH organises a meeting ‘Madras city and the NSS' at the Women's Christian College, College Road, at 2 p.m. Pradeep Chakravarthy delivers a talk on ‘Koil suvargal pesinaal' at Roja Muthiah Library, Taramani, at 4.30 p.m. A talk by B.Vijayaraghavan on ‘Snakes of Madras' is being held at Studio Palazzo, Seethammal Road, Alwarpet, at 6 p.m.

The Association of British Scholars and TAG Centre organise a talk by Satish Kumar of Queen's University, Belfast, on ‘Urbanisation of poverty in Chennai: Myths, facts and challenges' at the TAG Centre, Alwarpet, at 6 p.m.

Bharadwaj Rangan talks on ‘Tanglish in Tamil cinema' as part of Chennai Heritage Lecture at Hotel Taj Connemara at 6.30 p.m.
