Madras School of Econonics wins RBI Policy Challenge

The Madras School of Economics (MSE), Chennai has won the National Level Round of RBI Policy Challenge’17 organised by the Reserve Bank of India, Mumbai.

A press release from MSE Officiating Director, Sunder Ramaswamy, said that the team comprising Aakash, Abhishek, Pranjal, Tuhin and faculty advisor Sartaj Rasool Rather was awarded certificates, trophy, cash prize of ₹1 lakh. They have also been invited for a three-month internship at the RBI Central Office, Mumbai.

Over 300 teams took part in the challenge in which the MSE team was asked to make a presentation on a suggested monetary policy in the final round. In the first round, they submitted an essay on ‘Inflation - an iniquitous tax’ and in the regional round, they made a presentation on consumer confidence survey.

The RBI Policy Challenge is a national-level competition to spread knowledge about framework for monetary policy and other related monetary and banking issues among the student community.
