Land to be allocated for more ATMs

February 27, 2014 09:32 am | Updated May 18, 2016 11:08 am IST - CHENNAI:

Chennai Corporation has decided to earmark land for commissioning Automated Teller Machines (ATM) in neighbourhoods with inadequate facilities.

The civic body will start indentifying spots not covered in the network of ATMs by public and private sector banks in all the zones of the city. Vacant lands owned by the civic body in spots will be earmarked for development of new facilities.

“Open space reserve lands will not be used for the purpose. Commercial complex of Chennai Corporation will also house new ATMs. Most of the roads that do not have ATMs will get new facilities based on the requirement by banks,” said an official of Chennai Corporation.
