Kshetra Sangeetham to feature Thanjavur

Come Saturday, the ongoing Kshetra Sangeetham series will feature one more temple town. The 14th episode of the unique endeavour will focus on Thanjavur.

The event, to be held on November 3 at the Mini Hall of Narada Gana Sabha, will feature a talk on Thanjavur, and the musical significance of the ‘Kshetra’. The talk will be delivered by Dr. Chithra Madhavan. This will be followed by a vocal concert by Dr. Vijayalakshmy Subramaniam, supported by M.R. Gopinath (violin), Erode Shri Nagaraj (Mridangam) and Trichy Murali (Ghatam).

The event is being organized by Narada Gana Sabha. This thematic music series began in January 2010, and, till date, has covered 13 temple towns, including Kanchipuram, Chidambaram, Srirangam, Madurai, Tiruvarur, Chennai, Sringeri, Tiruvaiyaru, Tirupati, Tiruchendur , Guruvayoor, Vaitheeswaran Koil and Swamimalai.
