Kodungaiyur bakery fire toll goes up to 12

Two more victims die on Tuesday

Two more victims of the Kodungaiyur bakery fire have died, taking the total toll to 12.

I. Parthiban, 24, who had 58% burns, and and K. Ilayaraja, also 24, who had 59% burns, died at the Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital. Eight patients are currently undergoing treatment at the burns unit there.

Of the 10 patients who were admitted to the Government Stanley Hospital, three have been discharged and seven are under treatment. The fire, which broke out last Saturday night, killed a fireman and injured over 50.
