K.J. Yesudas to be honoured

T.M. Krishna will receive Isaiperaringnar award

Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha will confer the Sangeetha Kalasarathy award on legendary singer K. J. Yesudas at the inauguration of the Sabha’s 117th year December Music Festival on December 16.

Other awardees

On that day, awards will also be presented to veterans and young musicians in the field of Carnatic music. The Gottuvadyam Narayana Iyengar Award for Visesha Vadyam will be presented to A.K.C. Natarajan (Clarinet), the Palghat Mani Iyer Centenary award to Mannargudi A. Easwaran, the Dwaram Venkataswami Naidu Award to R.K. Sriramkumar, the Dr. M.L.V. Award to Vishnudev Namboothri, and the G. Ramanathan Award to V.K. Manimaran, said a press release.

Tamil Isai Sangam

Carnatic musician T.M. Krishna will receive the 62nd Isaiperaringnar award of the Tamil Isai Sangam for 2017 on December 21 during the inaugural of the 75th annual Tamil Isai Festival at Raja Annamalai Hall. Karur Ku. Swaminatha Desigar has been announced as 9th awardee of the Pann Isaiperarignar honour.

Gold medallion, cash

The awards will be presented by Governor Banwarilal Purohit. The awards comprise a gold medallion, a silver plaque and an endowment purse of ₹10,000, another release said.
