Khushbu is all set to charm television viewers from the third week of August with her talk show Simply Khushbu .

The show will be a departure from her earlier talk shows, says the actor, who has just begun the shooting for it. “We will have a live audience and they will be involved in the show. There will be a surprise element for my fans,” she adds.

There will be games and many innovative features are being added to the show to make it lively. On a lighter vein, she says: “Since I know a lot about celebrities and many of them are very close to me, it will be a very lively chat,” she says.

Ask her about the guest list and Ms. Khushbu says, “Let it be a surprise. We have invited impressive personalities to participate in the programme.” Her fans and television audiences, many of whom eagerly remember her show, Jack Pot , are excited about the new show. “Her costumes and jewellery are usually a rage and many people copy her style,” says R. Seethalakshmi, a homemaker. To be aired on Zee Tamil, the show will be on at 8 p.m. every Saturday.

ShondaLand, the production company owned and headed by Shonda Rhimes is a racy, exciting place. Ms. Rhimes, who has created and produced shows like the long-running medical drama Grey’s Anatomy , has consistently managed to hold the audience’s attention.

Now, with the third season of her political drama Scandal , airing on Zee Café at the time originally slotted for Desperate Housewives reruns, Ms. Rhimes has viewers hooked at primetime every week day.

But, what just made ShondaLand much more spectacular is the new legal drama How to Get Away with Murder . Generously sprinkled with all the typical ingredients that make her shows a delicious feast, the new series sandwiches love, law and nail-biting suspense between a university class on criminal law and a U.S. courtroom.

A longtime fan of Ms. Rhimes’ shows, Charu Sathish, says there is something about the shows produced by the screenwriter that sets them apart. “There are Shonda’s shows and then, there are the rest of the dramas. There have been so many medical, political and legal dramas on TV but, her shows are always more exciting,” she says.

This is something that critics agree as well. Hailed for crisply-written scripts which have the ability to shock and move you to tears, ShondaLand shows also tend to have characters with depth. How to Get Away with Murder stars Viola Davis of The Help fame as a brilliant criminal lawyer who has a successful practice and teaches at a law school.

How she deals with various professional and personal crises that are often intertwined is the nub of the story. It airs on Star World on weekdays.
