May 29, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:33 am IST - CHENNAI:

After bagging two national awards and getting critical acclaim at many international film festivals, Kaakka Muttai is all set to charm overseas audiences.

The film has been getting a good response from distributors not only in Tamil Nadu but in overseas locations too. Fox Star Studios has managed to sell the film for a record price even in countries like Japan and South Korea.

The film is reported to be the first ever to witness release in more than 100 screens in the two countries and overall the biggest release for a film other than a Rajinikanth-starrer, industry sources said.

In India and a few traditional markets for Tamil films like Malaysia and Singapore, the film will be released on June 5.

Directed by M.Manikandan, the film is produced by actor Dhanush and director Vetrimaaran.
