Jayalalithaa requests partymen not to resort to suicide

AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa on Saturday called upon her partymen not to take any extreme step to express their anguish over her present crisis.

“I do not agree with their action. It actually pains me,” she said, while condoling the death of Vadaputhupetti Agriculture Co-operative Society president P. Rajayokkiyom, who had committed suicide by consuming poison.

His wife Muthulakshmi is undergoing treatment at hospital as she too consumed poison unable to bear the death of her husband.

Ms. Jayalalithaa released a sum of Rs 3 lakh as relief to the family of Rajayokkiyom and another Rs. 50,000 towards the treatment of Ms. Muthulakshmi.

The AIADMK would take care of education and all other requirements of Divya, the daughter of Rajayokkiyom, Ms. Jayalalithaa said.
