Jayalalithaa christens tiger cubs

Chief Minister Jayalalithaa christened five tiger cubs, including three white tiger cubs, at the Arignar Anna Zoological Park in Vandalur. An official release said she named the two female cubs born to white tigress Anu as Thaaraa and Meeraa, and the male cub as Bheemaa.

The two male cubs born to tigress Namrutha were christened Aadhithyaa and Karnaa. She also named a female cub (Uthraa) rescued from the Sathyamangalam forests, now under the care of the zoo. Anu’s cubs were born on March 16 and those of Namrutha on March 23.
