Japanese chamber gifts books

Around 200 picture books from Japan were presented to Spastic Society of Tamil Nadu by the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chennai (JCCIC) as part of its social action programmes, on Friday.

The event commemorated the tenth anniversary of JCCIC’s foundation.

Tsuyoshi Yamane, team leader of the JCCIC 10{+t}{+h}Anniversary Project, said, “We started out with only 26 member companies and now have almost 180. Japan has an especially close association with south India and its people.”

The event was inaugurated by Masanori Nakano, Consul General of Japan in Chennai, and Mr. Yamane.
