The new Jaguar F-type has come to Chennai much sooner than every one thought it would.
Launched in the Indian market just last month, the shining red Jaguar F-type was unveiled jointly by Jaguar and Land Rover India’s vice president Rohit Suri, the Chennai dealer Arun Surendra and the British Deputy High Commissioner to Chennai Mike Nithavrianakis at the Taj Coromandel on Saturday.
Chennai will only be the second city in India where this two-seater convertible Jaguar F-type sports car will be seen on the roads.
Mr. Suri, who was delighted with the exponential growth of sales, reiterated this car would be a game changer in the Indian market.
“The car has received phenomenal response from the Indian customers. The unveiling of this beauty will further build our brand in Tamil Nadu,” he said. Similar sentiments were expressed by Mr. Surendra.
The glitzy event attended by Jaguar’s patrons and potential buyers witnessed the screening of the short film ‘Desire’, in which the car, apart from Damian Lewis and Shannyn Sossamonn, plays a central role. The evening also saw the display of Sanchita Ajjampur’s collection.
The British Deputy High Commissioner who raised a toast to the flashy, new Jaguar F-type said, “The success of this Indian-owned company powered by British engineering is well-known.”
