They will continue to land at the old terminal
Departure of all the flights in the international sector has been shifted to the new international terminal from Friday. However, international flights will continue to land in the old terminal, according to an official release from the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
The communication said the national carrier Air India was the last airline to shift its operations to the new international terminal on Friday. With this, the shifting of all international flight departures from the old terminal building to the new international building has been completed in a phased manner.
All passengers who are taking flights out of Chennai (departures) in the domestic/international sectors have to take the route towards the ramp of the new domestic terminal.
To reach the ramp, all vehicles have to turn towards the right side at the entrance point of airport.
The AAI has provided all the amenities and facilities for passengers, in order to facilitate smooth flight operations from the new terminal as per the international standards from day one, the release said.
In addition, any other facility which is required will be made available after holding discussions with all stake-holders.
The AAI appealed to the airlines and all the other agencies to extend their cooperation in this regard.
