The Federation of Indian Animal Protection Organisation will organise its first India for Animals annual conference between January 29 and 31 here.
The conference, to be held at C.P. Ramaswami Aiyer Foundation, is designed to bring together animal rights campaigners, shelter workers, journalists and law makers to discuss animal welfare issues. It will feature roundtables and other interactive ses'sions .
There will also be an award ceremony where Lifetime Achievement award will be presented to Member of Parliament Maneka Gandhi and Outstanding Services for Animals award to R.M. Kharb, Chairman of Animal Welfare Board of India.
Union Minister for Environment and Forests Jairam Ramesh would inaugurate the conference, said a press release.
