Ilayaraja to perform MSV tribute

Music composer Ilayaraja will pay tribute to M.S. Viswanathan, who passed away recently at the age of 87, by playing 30 popular songs set to tune by him in a concert on July 27 at Kamarajar Arangam in Chennai.

The concert, which will be titled ‘Ennulle Ulla MSV,’ is likely to feature musicians who worked with MSV.

Ilayaraja, who has worked with MSV early on in his career and is said to have been deeply influenced by his music. A few singers who have worked with MSV are also likely to be invited for the concert.

M.S. Viswanathan, who was fondly referred to as ‘Mellisai Mannar,’ had composed music for more than 750 Tamil films.
