Veteran music director Ilaiyaraaja on Sunday returned to composing music after a brief lay off due to illness. He composed a song for the upcoming film Rajarajachozhanin Porrvaal at Prasad Studios.

According to a press release, Ilaiyaraaja, who has not been working because of an illness and subsequent recuperation for the past couple of weeks, returned to work to compose a song. He was advised compulsory rest by the doctors after he was admitted to Apollo Hospitals on December 23, when he complained of chest pain.

Ilaiyaraaja was slated to perform at a concert in Malaysia on December 28, but had to cancel it on the advice of the doctors who treated him. He was asked not to undertake any travel, according to sources. The ‘Maestro,’ as he is affectionately called by his fans, however delivered a video message to his fans requesting them to attend the concert to respect the other artistes who had travelled to perform.

Only the music has been composed for the song on Sunday. The music director is expected to be there to record the playback voices on Monday.
