How to get a marriage registered

Marriages can be registered in the States under various Acts including the Hindu Marriage Act, 1195, Special Marriage Act, 1954, and the Tamil Nadu Registration of Marriage Act, 2009 (TNRMA). Registration under these acts is done at the local sub-registrar's office, As per TNRMA, couples of all religion, and inter-caste couples can get their marriages registered.
