Honour for health official

The Director of Medical Education S. Geethalakshmi received the ‘Award of Red Cross Appreciation’ on Tuesday. The award, given by the Indian Red Cross Society’s Tamil Nadu Branch, was for timely help rendered to society. Governor K. Rosaiah presented it. “I am very happy to have received this. When I was at Government Stanley Hospital, I ensured that the government’s hearse service was used to help people transport bodies. We even transported bodies as far as 300 km in association with the Red Cross,” she said.
