According to Balu Mahendra’s assistants, the legendary filmmaker had finished the script and screenplay for his next project.

He had intended to shoot using digital camera, just like in his last film, ‘Thalaimuraigal’.

“He was bedridden for a couple of weeks, last month, with an eye ailment, and during his time at the hospital, he had narrated the entire story and screenplay, and we took notes,” said Vicky, an assistant to the director.

The story is said to revolve around a terrorist and a child and was set in an urban location.

Mr. Mahendra had shot ‘Thalaimuraigal’ (generations) using a digital SLR camera to cut costs. After the film received critical acclaim, he was eager to make more feature films using such cost-effective technology.
