A 55-year-old woman from Kolathur, who died of a heart attack at a private hospital on Thursday, had tested positive for H1N1.

Officials of the directorate of public health said the death was being put down to myocardial infarction, and not counted as a H1N1 death.

“She was admitted for a surgery for fibroids in the uterus. She developed respiratory distress and was tested for H1N1. However, she then died of a myocardial infarction,” said an official. Her relatives are being given Tamiflu as a precaution.
