Girl commits suicide

A 17-year-old medical assistant allegedly committed suicide by hanging at her employer’s house in Egmore on Sunday morning. Police sources said Simran Tupni of Thirumullaivoyal near Ambattur took the extreme step following a disagreement with her boyfriend. Simran, who was employed as a medical assistant for an ailing octogenarian at an apartment complex on Marshalls Road, Egmore, hung herself in front of her patient, sources added.
