The Chennai police on Monday traced marketing executive Gaanam Nair, who reportedly went missing on Friday last. She was working for a salon in Nungambakkam.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, T.Nagar, P. Saravanan said, "Our teams traced her today and she is normal."

Her aunt, with whom she lived in an apartment, had lodged a complaint, claiming that Ms. Nair left for work on her two-wheeler but she neither reached her office nor returned home. Her mobile was also switched off.

Her friends circulated her profile through social media networks, while her family issued a notification in daily newspapers. The K.K. Nagar police registered a case and two teams were formed to trace her.

The 28-year-old woman's father is based in New Delhi, while her mother had passed away.
