The Madipakkam police have arrested four persons for trespassing into a crematorium in Sheila Nagar on Friday.
Police sources said the suspects were involved in cremating the body of one Vatsala (84) of Madipakkam, despite the ban imposed by the Greater Chennai Corporation based on a Madras High Court order prohibiting the use of the disputed land.
A complaint was filed by Greater Chennai Corporation’s zonal officials, based on which the police arrested Ramesh and three of his relatives.
Further investigation is on, police officers said.
