Four arrested for document fraud

The police on Friday arrested four persons who allegedly duped several applicants who were trying to obtain land documents and community certificates from the office of the village administrative officer (VAO), Ambattur.

Following a complaint from Ambattur VAO Mohan, policemen in plainclothes mounted surveillance near the office. They found that the four persons were telling the applicants that they would help them get the necessary certificates. They also had in their possession blank land document papers and community certificates.

The police arrested R. Inban (54), the mastermind behind the forgery who was working as a lorry driver in Ambattur Municipality, and his three accomplices. — Staff Reporter
